Ambulances and evacuation vehicles

AMBULANCES.png

Our new program Name an Ambulance was created to deliver even more evacuation vehicles to the front lines — and to connect our donors with the medics whose lives and work they’re directly impacting.

One of the evacuation vehicles was named after the fallen Ukrainian hero Myroslav Nataliutkin — a 27-year-old defender from the Lviv Region.

"We sincerely thank Sunflower of Peace for the evacuation vehicle. It’s a chance for our brothers to receive help faster and more safely."

Community and connections

This year wasn’t just about numbers or logistics.

It was about people coming together to help.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who stepped in and took part in special initiatives in support of Ukrainian medics, including:

Evan, an American volunteer who traveled to Ukraine and helped our team to assemble IFAKs

Exxcel Gymnastics, for bringing their community once again together to raise funds for Sunflower of Peace

Lana Brooks and everyone involved in the "Between two skies" movie premiere

Looking ahead, we’re incredibly grateful for what’s coming next.

Thanks to your support during our Giving Tuesday 2025 campaign, next year we will do something we’ve never done before — deliver rescue robots to Ukraine, providing critical support for evacuation and life-saving operations in some of the most dangerous areas. This is a big step forward for our mission, and it’s only possible because of you.

To every donor, volunteer, partner, and supporter — thank you for standing with Ukraine

This message to you comes straight from Ukrainian medics on the front lines. Please take a moment to hear directly from those whose lifesaving work you have supported.

What worked. What didn’t. Why it matters.
A letter from our President and Founder Kateryna Malakhova

Dear supporter,

This year, we want to speak to you honestly.

Not with polished language, not with dramatic headlines, but with the reality of what it truly means to do this work during a prolonged war.

Ukraine continues to live under immense pressure. Resources are limited. Trust is tested. And every decision we make carries real consequences.

Some bring impact. Some bring hard lessons. Both matter, and both deserve to be shared with you.

Because of your support, very real things happened this year.

In a frontline village in the Kharkiv region, in the Kindrashivka community, water supply was restored. Thanks to the purchase of a powerful pump and piping, 80 families regained access to water, something as basic as the ability to drink, cook, and live with dignity.

When logistics failed and medical supplies could not reach the Kherson Regional Hospital, we were able to step in and cover urgent pain-management needs for the surgical department. It wasn’t visible help. It wasn’t celebrated. But it mattered deeply to those who needed it.

There were moments of pride and moments of heartbreak.

One that stays with us: a medical evacuation vehicle was delivered to a medic in the Kherson region with the help of our Latvian partners at Agendum. It was operational for only one night before being destroyed by two FPV drones. One night. That is the reality of this war.

But that was not the end of the story.

Another evacuation vehicle, Myroslav, was later delivered and additionally equipped with electronic warfare protection. Named after a fallen hero. It is still operational today. It is still saving lives. That matters.

We also need to share something unpleasant.

This year, we uncovered a serious breach of trust: forged stamps and signatures used to request tactical medical supplies on behalf of a brigade. Once this was discovered, we immediately stopped cooperation. The situation was escalated to the brigade commander, who acknowledged the issue and apologized for the actions of the medical service leadership involved.

But this is why we have had systems and processes in charge since 2014 overseen by an anti-corruption lawyer and SOP Ukraine director Iryna Malakhova. Just like many years ago, all tactical medical supplies are transferred strictly through official documentation and personal verification. It is stricter. But it protects the integrity of this mission and the trust you place in us.

This is not easy work. And it is not always successful. But it is real.

And it only exists because you continue to stand with us, especially when supporting Ukraine is no longer easy, popular, or comfortable.

Every donation tells us that this work still matters. That Ukrainian medics, families, and defenders are not invisible. That accountability still matters. That honesty still matters.

We do not promise perfection.

We promise transparency. Responsibility. And presence.

May every defender return home.
May our land endure.
May we remain steadfast.

Thank you for your trust, your support, and your belief in this mission.

With deep gratitude,

Katya Malakhova
